we had gotten all of the measurements and i had even pre-drilled the holes for the hangers for Mrs.Todorof, and Mrs.Hyer. However, the screws we had were to big and now we are wating till next week when Mr.Hyer gets the smaller screws.

S.O.I
12/10/09
we again discussed our posters that we have to work on and that they are due Monday. Eric and I are working together on the environmental themed poster.i think this is important because it will inform people that the S.O.I initiative is interested in the environment.

Helping Mr.Hyer with the smart board
12/11/09
today Mr.Hyer and I were working on the smartboard in his classroom. we first had to take the screen off the wall and set it on the floor so that it wouold be safe and would not get damaged when i was taking all of the screws out of the back of it to make drill holes for a piece of metal that would hold the smart board to the wall so it would not be knocked down if it was hit with a backpack. However, i was only able to get half of it done before i had to leave and get my I.D. but i look foreward to finishing it on moonday.

Library 12/01/09
today we made more arts and crafts stuff. we covered a plank gift container with colored paper and ate chocolate cake. this was fun because i got rewarded with my hard work with cake.

Tech assistant 11/17/09
Sean Tigh and I were building a new Laptop holder for Mrs.Peterson so that she would not have to do it. i did it because Mrs.Peterson has alot of work she has to do for the school thus i figured i would help her out and do this for CAS.

today i had onnly gotten food form one person but the others had proimised to get it to me on monday so i had put what food i had gotten where the other food was placed to get sent to the families.

we went over our monday food festival by reminding everybody was going to bring and we also decided what kind themes our posters were going to have.
library 11/16/09
today was my second time vouluntering at the library and today we had made little figurens out of a dough which would be baked so it would keep its shape and be hung on a x-mas tree. we had alot of fun we all made jokes and listened to saturday night live digital shorts while we worked so over all it was a fun time.

i am planning on how many supplies i am going to need for Thursday and i am going to ask everyone to bring in supplies Tuesday for Thursday. i am doing this because i feel that it is important for a family to have a thanksgiving day.

SoI 11/12/09
today we had gotten together and decided we were only going to work on the day of food rather then trying ot get another bake sale going. i feel this is a good idea because we were going to try and have a get together and all of us eating and drinking together while panning for later in the year.
Library volunteer

today was my first experience at the library volunteering and it was interesting to see what they had to do on a normal everyday baises. Today i had to put all of the books on the shelves where they had to go and i was tought how to check books in with the computer and how to check them out.

today i brought the cipolte peppers and a bottel of heinze ketchup for mr hyer's chille. i like mr.hyer's chille and was happy to help buy the supplies to mass produce it.

SOI meeting 11/05/09
today we discussed the dates on which people were going to bring fruits and sell tea next week. i volunteered to bring tangerines for Monday to help with the soi initiative.

SOI meeting 10/22/09
today we discussed whether or not we were going to have a giant food extravaganza after midterms or before thanksgiving vacation. We contributed by giving ideas on the time and classroom on where to have it. I feel this is a good idea because it will get students more interested in organic food.

Soi Bake sale 10/09/09
we had planned to sell goods today and we did. i was a part of the selling force while some of the others were in charge of getting the food.i had to meet the other sellers at break right next ot the stairs and attempt to sell tea and browines. lukily we were able sell $25.00 worth of tea and snacks. this is good because we had not sold all of our supply so we were able to make a profit and not have to restock.

we had our first meeting today and had decided on when we were going ot have our first bake sale and decided how long we had wanted meetings to be in the future.

We had our second meeting where we had read aloud a document on the positives of eating organic food and we then planned our bake sale during break this week and who was going ot do what.

we had met and decided that friday october 9th we were finally going to have our bake sale and we made sure that everyone knew what they were doing.

we sold hot organic tea and browines and cookies during break today and we were able to make $25.00

Swimming long distance
July 16, I swam at Hamland pond for about 40 minutes straight going about a three quarters of a mile.
July 23, Went to Dow's beach and swam a swimmers mile in the ocean.
July 30, swam at hamland pond for about 50 minutes swam about a swimmers mile from starting point and back again.
August 01, swam at Hamland pond and doubled my distance that I swam by a swimmers mile and a quarter in about 45 min so incresed my time as well.
August 10, Swam at Hamland pond swam same distance as last week for same time so no change.
August 15, Swam at Hamland Pond swam same distance but with shorter time 35min.
August 24, Swam at Hamland Pond same distance and with almost the same time 33min.
September 27, swam at Public pool did same distance and my time was 45 min i lost time due to the amount of time without swimming.

Eagle Scout Project
July 6, I had to go buy 13, 10ft planks of white pine, galvanized nails and screws for the bird houses.
July 12, 1:00PM 9 Boy Scouts came to my house to help build the bird houses. I explained how I wanted them put together and what they were going to look like. all of the boys finished the 12 bird houses around 2:45PM and now all i have to do is set them up in west Barnstable.
July 26, after calling and reminding the scouts two days before no one showed up at the Fire Station at 10:00AM except for one of the kids parents. The parent my dad and I had put up all of the bird houses in about 45min and then my dad and I disposed of the old Bird Houses at the dump.
August 01, Rewriting my Eagle Workbook for the council.
August 15, recieved my scout masters confrence for eagle and now need one more signature for my workbook to sign up for a bord of review in september.
August 22, went to Karel, Darcey and got her to fill in the last signature.

Sandy neck hike
July,16,09: We Began the hike at around 6:00PM when we got there by car and it was very foggy and dark. we hike for about three hours before we asked some guys in a summer home if a certain path would lead to our campsite and they pointed us in the right direction. the new scouts were having trouble keeping up because their parent's had unfortunately packed their bags for them and had made them to heavy so we had to stop every once in a while so they could catch their breath. we had hiked three miles to get their but it was in the deep sand so the older scouts and I helped everyone sit up their tents for the night.
July, 17,09: we got up at around 7:00AM and the patrols cooked breakfast and we went clamming at around 8:30AM because the tied had gone out and we thought we could get something.We stopped trying to get anything at around 9:30AM so instead we had two of our older scouts create an orienteering course that the patrols had to complete in a certain time in order to get a prize. All the patrols had finished the orienteering course at around 12:30PM then we hiked three miles to a light house and then walked the three miles back after we ate lunch at around 3:30PM.We got back to the campsite at around 5:30PM and we all cooked dinner and played on the beach until 8:30PM. Then we went to sleep and all got up at around 7:00AM after we ate we hiked back to the parking lot on the beach shore so that the sand would be hard and it would not be such a strenuous route. The new scouts had a really hard time because their gear did not get spread around evenly so they ended up carrying more than they should have so we had to go slow. we got back to the parking lot at about 11:00AM and then the parents came and picked up their kids.
I feel that I had fulfilled my goal for the weekend because i had helped the new scouts get through their first hike and had helped them complete it.
